Alucard is a major character in the Castlevania series and has been in numerous games, debuting on Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse.

Background

Alucard is the son of Dracula and Lisa Farenheights, a human that was murdered for being a suspected witch. This mixed heritage makes Alucard a dhampir, a half-human, half-vampire. He has all of the vampire powers but none of the weaknesses.

Genya Arikado is the alter ego of Alucard in 2035. He poses as a secret national defense agent to investigate and prevent the prophesied resurrection of Dracula. Partnered with his close associate Yoko Belnades, a Catholic Church employee, he began to frequently visit the Hakuba Shrine in Japan and question Mina Hakuba, the shrinekeeper's daughter about the shrine's connection to the castle. He became a mentor for Soma Cruz as he journeyed throughout the castle to uncover his dark destiny: to become the reincarnation of Dracula. With Genya's help, Soma becomes powerful enough to enter the chaos realm and seal away Dracula's evil essence before it could take over his body. Even after this incident Genya continues to look out for Soma.
