Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow takes place in the year 2035. Dracula has been defeated, and his powers are to be passed on to his reincarnation. Soma Cruz, a high school student who obtains powers as a result of Dracula's death. Soma battles those who wish to obtain the powers of Dracula.
[edit] Plot
It is the Year 2035, in the country of Japan. An exchange student from Europe named Soma Cruz is meeting up with his friend, Mina Hakuba at her family's shrine to watch the first total solar eclipse of the 21st century. But, as the eclipse began both Soma and Mina felt the sense of wearyness, when both of them regained consciousness, they realized that they are in some kind of castle, then a man named Genya Arikado came to them and attended to both of them, Soma also realized that he had powers that he did not know about. Now Soma and Mina have to find a way out of the castle.
