Background

Hammer is a former soldier of the army of the United States of America and shop-keeper in Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow.

In 2035 his mission was to visit the Hakuba Shrine to try and find out what was going on. This leads him to having to be saved by Soma Cruz after after the magical teleportation to Castlevania. Before Soma helps him out, he sets up a shop outside of the castle gates where Soma may buy items from him to help him out.

In 2036 he quits the army officially and takes on the role of a merchant. He finds out about the castle replica, feeding the information to Soma, and once again setting shop outside of a castle to help him out with items. This time, he falls in love with a girl named Yoko Belnades who also has a shop setup in the area.
