Background

Mina Hakuba is a childhood friend of Soma Cruz (and possible interest in love). Her family was responsible for sealing Castlevania within darkness of a solar eclipse of 1999, the proper death of Dracula.

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow

By the year 2035 she was 18 years old. During a solar eclipse, she and Soma Cruz suddenly find themselves transported to Castlevania. She ends up waiting outside as he goes in to try and find them an escape route. She figures out he's been taken over by darkness and tries to help guide him telepathically while he makes a confrontation to rid himself of his dark shackles. Her help is a big factor in Soma managing to free himself and they make their escape together.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow

The very next year, in 2036, Mina finds herself on another adventure... sort of. Soma runs off to fight Celia Fortner and destroy her cult. Mina acts similarly to last game, giving moral support through telepathy. When Soma is about to be tricked by Celia, he is saved by Mina and her soft, caring words. Soma prevails and returns to Mina, as a joke to the surrounding people as their love interests are obvious.
